Shedding Some Light On Abuse

Getting a little serious today as to stress it is NEVER okay to feel powerless, degraded, humiliated, or live in fear because of someone else! I speak honestly without giving details of enduring abuse at certain times in my life! Abusers come in all forms as does abuse itself! After enduring abuse i was one of the lucky ones strong enough to recognize what was happening, however, it still has had a serious impact on my physical and emotional wellbeing. Let me stress it has not caused me any forms of depression or psychological disorders which happens to most when they endure years of any form of abuse. For me it caused distrust, fear, reservations, and chest pains as well as doubt in many aspects of my life. I am one of the lucky few whom was able to separate what i had happening to me and who i was as a person! I am very lucky to be able to walk away but as someone once quoted, ALL FORMS OF ABUSE LEAVE BRUISES!
Trust me some bruises are so deep so painful and leave scars that may never heal or if they do they are never forgotten!

Physical abuse is not just the obvious, when you intimidate or make someone feel unsafe in there environment you are physically abusing them. Intimidation i know all too well. It is like being hit! It is scary and you live in constant stress and fear.

Verbal and emotional abuse is degrading. Words are weapons! My personal opinion after living it in childhood and adulthood, words cut deeper and make you bleed more!

Mental abuse comes in many forms such as Insults as well as stalking, jealousy, all of which make you doubt your sanity, second guessing yourself. These fall under gaslighting, trust me it is a horrible way to live!

Financial this is a power trip by your abuser, stripping you of your independence, making you depend on them and you not seeing it happen until it is too late. This type of abuse makes it so you cant leave you fear leaving because you have lost control of your life and yourself. It makes you doubt you will live the same lifestyle or will succeed. You can have a degree be educated but you doubt yourself as the abuser maintains control.

As i end this all i can say is that if you see yourself in any of this get help! You can and will survive! You are strong enough to stop someone from controlling your life! We get one, be happy, get help, move on! You will be okay!!

      Funny you mention Barbie. I had a Law School classmate that related the truth about relationships between men and women – he said, Men don’t stand a chance in a relationship with women. I was surprised and asked why? He laughed and said, “when guys are growing up they are out playing baseball, football and games etc. and girls? They are home playing Barbie with Ken. They are playing house and its Ken go out and do this, Ken do that, Ken, I want a new car, a new house. Oh, Ken we are going to have the biggest wedding!!”
      It’s like he slapped me in the face and I said, OMG, you’re right – men don’t stand a chance. Girls have be rehearsing life since they were 5 yr old!! LOL No barbies. He was, Way Right! LOL! Sorry for the on and on and on!!

  8. Without some in my life giving me strength yes the strength was still there was still present but having someone back you support you and care about your wellbeing is everything! It makes you that much stronger! There are some friends I could not live without and every day am thankful for there love and the fact they just lend a ear!!
