The Power of Touch!

Touch is a non verbal behavior that connects both humans and primates. The power in touch is immense. It has many health benefits and is healing and comforting to all.

When we are touched it releases oxytocin, as well as serotonin, and dopamine. These chemical neurotransmitters in the human body are of upmost importance! They are responsible for a magnitude of things some and not limited to social behavior, well being, sexual desire and function, as well as mental health. In other words they are the feel good feelings every human needs! A lack of these feel good feelings and we face depression, low energy, negativity, anxiety, and a low sex drive.

Touch creates, empathy, trust, closeness, happiness, and aids and promotes healing, reduces fear and anxiety, lowers stress, and helps reduce pain. When someone touches, hugs, or gives you a massage think of the feelings you feel and the calm that comes over your whole body. Just someone touching your hand for a few seconds or hugging you for a few seconds creates a connection and closeness that you remember.

I truly believe you can never get enough touching or hugging from someone. From hugging your kids, to touching a man or woman, to even petting your animals. Both and all benefit from these things and make us all more productive, happy, and just gives us all a better existence! So hug a lot, touch a lot, pet your animals, and see how much better and more fulfilling your life will be! xoxo

  1. Sometimes an unexpected tight hug from someone makes my entire day. I’ve stood there and experienced my brain flooding me with feel-good hormones.

On a side note, have you ever considered adding tags to your posts? It would boost your visibility a lot more πŸ˜‰

      1. Hello πŸ™‚ Not a problem–when you go to post what you have written, if you’re on your laptop or computer, to the right of your post you will see all of your post settings. It is there where you add your feature image. Well, there’s a category that is titled “categories and tags.” You can create different categories for your blog (I have a category for Poetry, Humor, Blog, Godly, etc. on my blog) and you can also add tags below that. There is a field specifically for “tags.” (You can’t miss it.) You simply type words that correlate to whatever it is your posting and separate them by a comma. (i.e. Love, Touch, Relationships, Writer, Blogger,) the list goes on and on. Don’t post more than 15 tags though as that is WordPress’ max to be able to advertise your post on this platform. (I stick between 9-11 tags). When people type a word into the search bar to find posts related to whatever word they are searching, all relevant tagged posts will appear to them. (so if someone is searching for “Love” and you tagged your post with “Love,” your post will appear along with all the other tagged posts about love. πŸ˜‰ Hope that helps!
